New South Wales Office of State Revenue
The Office of State Revenue has over the years increased the number of applications and systems that are being used by its staff. The management and provision of access to these systems has become more complex and costly. Also there is the possibility of former staff still having access to some systems due to the manual access removal process.
Castelain worked closely with the NSW Office of State Revenue on their identity management project, which deals with these problems. Castelain was engaged a number of times on this project, from an initial scoping study that reviewed the departments business requirements and options for identity management solutions, to the project management and delivery of subsequent phases of the project. This included the technical design of the large scale identity management system and the implementation of a number of smaller components that provide short term benefits to OSR.
The identity management project will reduce the time it takes to provide authorised staff access to systems from up to three days to less than a day. Greater visibility of access rights and the easy removal of access are some of the business benefits.
